COMMUNITY NEWS UPDATE: Mission Agape's sandwich project is in full swing. For the last 2 years during the pandemic, we have been making 400 chicken salad sandwiches / lunches each week for our downtown partners at The Salvation Army and Atlanta Mission. Originally our operations were located out of the Zion Methodist Church, but we have since moved our production to the Rothem Café. We wish to thank the Zion Methodist Church and congregational volunteers for their support. On Fridays we make the chicken salad at the American Deli head office from 12:30pm – 2:pm – 2716 Northeast Express Way, Atlanta GA 30034. Then on Saturdays we will assemble the lunches from 8:45 am – 10:00 AM at the Rothem Café, 3585 Peachtree Industrial, BLD #128 Duluth, GA 30009 All are welcome to join us! OPERATION PRISON UPDATE CHANGE OF PLANS... Our March 2023 trip has been rescheduled per prison request. We are now targeting for a May 2023 visit. PERU MISSION UPDATE: The second relief drive in Peru has been completed. Though the pandemic has slowed our progress, we look forward to visiting our Peruvian team later this summer.
Mission Agape is an independent, 501(c)(3) charity reaching out to the homeless, imprisoned, and financially fragile within our community. Our name – Mission Agape – literally means Mission of Love. The highest form of love is charity. That is our mission; to help people in need. We do this out of love – with nothing expected in return. It is our hope and prayer that we’ll be able to make a positive impact in those around us, both in our local community and in our global community.
Prior to the pandemic, our primary activity was in providing quality hot meals for Atlanta’s homeless. In a typical year we prepared between 30,000 and 40,000 meals throughout our network. In the fall we focused our fundraising efforts to purchase and distribute 500 new warm jackets for Atlanta’s homeless community.
