Before the onset of the COVID pandemic, Mission Agape spearheaded a significant project known as our Food Distribution initiative. With the support of dedicated volunteers, local sponsors, churches, and businesses, we had the privilege of providing over 30,000 hot and nutritious meals to Atlanta's homeless population and individuals facing financial hardships on an annual basis. Our partnerships with esteemed organizations such as The Salvation Army, Atlanta Mission, and the SafeHouse allowed us to effectively distribute these meals to those in need.
Our carefully crafted menu consisted of delicious offerings, including golden baked chicken, California mixed vegetables, rice, freshly made egg rolls, and our signature Mission Agape sauce. We took pride in ensuring that each meal was not only nourishing but also flavorful, providing a sense of comfort and care to those we served.
In addition to our ongoing food service efforts, Mission Agape collaborated with Hosea Feeds during special occasions such as MLK Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. For these remarkable events, we would prepare and distribute over 3,000 lbs of chicken, accompanied by 2,500 hand-made egg rolls (and over 1,500 dyed eggs specifically for Easter celebrations).
Though the COVID pandemic has presented numerous challenges and altered the dynamics of our Food Distribution project, we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting those in need. We have adapted our operations to prioritize the health and safety of our community members while continuing to serve meals to the best of our ability. As the world recovers from this unprecedented crisis, we eagerly anticipate the day when we can fully resume our regular Food Distribution activities, rekindling our mission to provide nourishment, hope, and compassion to those facing adversity.
